1. Labour and Installation
Greg Martineau Projects (GMP) warrants all labour for ten (10) years. GMP’s obligation under this limited warranty shall be limited to replacement of the defective unit, component or part free of charge for a period of (10) ten years from the date of the manufacture; during this time parts and labour costs will be included. After ten years (10) the defective unit, component or part will be provided and the customer will be responsible for the installation / labour and any repainting, refinishing, or similar activities involved in this process.
The GMP warranty applies to the present homeowner but may be transferred to any subsequent purchaser of the property upon which the contract work is performed.
The GMP warranty is strictly limited to contract work performed by Greg Martineau Projects or its subcontractors expressly for the owner. GMP shall assign and transfer any applicable manufacturer’s warranties to owner upon request.
In order to enforce the rights under this warranty, the owner should promptly notify GMP in writing of the specific item or items which are believed to be covered by this warranty. Any emergency requests will be given immediate attention. If GMP finds in its reasonable judgement that the item or items requiring attention are covered by this warranty, it will promptly proceed to repair the defective materials or workmanship, at its sole cost and expense, except to the extent it finds that such repairs have been made necessary by the negligence or intentional misconduct of the owner, or any party or parties associated with the owner.
This warranty shall be void and shall not apply to any materials originally installed by GMP but were subsequently repaired, adjusted, or modified by an individual or entity other than GMP or its authorized representative. Supplying replacement units, components or parts does not extend the time period of the warranty. The replacement units, component or part shall be warrantied only to the extent of the unexpired portion of the warranty period on the originally purchased unit, or component part.
This warranty does not cover any product that has been abused, misused, worn out, altered, and used for a purpose other than that for which it was intended or in a manner inconsistent with any instruction regarding its use. The warranties described shall be the sole and exclusive warranties granted by GMP and shall be the sole and exclusive remedy available to the owner, or any subsequent holder of this warranty. Correction of defects, in the manner and for the periods of time described herein, shall constitute complete fulfillment of all liabilities and responsibilities of GMP to the owner, or any subsequent holder of this warranty, and shall constitute full satisfaction of all claims, whether based on contract, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise.
Neither the sales personnel of GMP nor any other person is authorized to make any warranties other than those described above or to the extend the duration of any warranties beyond the time period described.
Non-laminated Glass 10/20 years
Warrants non-laminated insulated glass incorporating stainless steel spacer bar against premature seal failure for a period of twenty (20) years from the date of manufacture.
Decorative Panels Between the Glass 10/2 years
Warrants between the glass decorative options (including shades and decorative inserts or panels) insulated glass against visual defects and workmanship that impairs normal operations or premature seal failure for two (2) years from the date of manufacture.
Neat Glass 10/10 years
Warrants NEAT monolithic glass for a period of ten (10) years from the date of manufacture. This limited warranty does not apply to breakage of any kind, including cracks, shattering or breaks unless the product was installed broken or damaged. Any unit retrofitted with solar control film will be excluded from the warranty. Venetian blinds installed less than 5cm from the glass may cause failure or cracks and may nullify the warranty.
3. Vinyl Extrusion
Warrants that the window and patio door vinyl extrusions (sashes, frames, glazing beads) will not chip peel, blister or corrode for a period of twenty (20) years from the date of manufacture. Any vinyl extrusion that is painted will void all warranties with the product affected.
4. Millwork, metal, nylon and vinyl parts
Warrants that millwork will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of manufacture. A good quality top coat of paint, clear sealer or varnish must be applied to all exposed surfaces. The top coat should be applied to all wood products as recommended by the paint manufacturer. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to properly care for and protect woodwork against moisture, excessive dryness or the sun’s rays. This limited warranty will not apply if the new woodwork is not so protected. Natural variations in grain pattern, colour or texture of woods are not defects. Grain raising due to exposure to moisture prior to a final paint or stain finish coat is not covered under this warranty. Warranty that all metal, nylon, and vinyl parts, screens and accessories (such as grills) on products to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of manufacture.
5. Aluminum cladding
Warrants the aluminum cladding on products to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of ten (10) years from the date of manufacture.
6. Aluminum build up and clad
Warrants the aluminum build up and clad to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of five (5) years from the date of installation. This warranty does not apply to caulking needing new application due to normal weather conditions, excessive heat or cold, or high humidity environments.
7. Steel and fibreglass door slabs
Warrants the steel or fibreglass door slab against defects in material and workmanship for a period of ten (10) years from the date of manufacture. The performance of the primer coat on the door slab cannot be warranted. The sun and environment the door slab is exposed to cannot be controlled and can cause alterations to the primer's performance. Failure to paint or stain the door, door light trim, decorative trim and jamb, and use of a storm door with an entry door that has plastic decorative or window trim, will void the warranty. Door warpage is considered a defect when it exceeds 8mm providing the door was manufactured with standard lock and hinge preparation. It will cover doors with glazing units 21”x65” or less, with widths ranging from 28” to 42” and heights ranging from 79” to 96”.
Due to the many variables that can affect paint there is no warranty offered on products painted by Greg Martineau Projects
